ECO-RESPONSIBLE GEMDOUBS
Stationery store and LPO approved shelter, Gemdoubs is a green company, having obtained several ecological labels.
It is thus a very rare case of an industrial site which is also classified as an approved LPO (Bird Protection League) refuge due to the existence of a “green” lagoon system and reserved meadows only subject to conservation. an annual mowing, facilitating visits by different species of birds.
Following its restart, the environmental management system was certified ISO 14001: 2015 on December 15, 2015.
LAGOON & RHIZOSPHERE
Around 3% of the water used in the manufacturing line is rejected. It is treated in a green way in a lagoon system, supplemented by a rhizosphere which filters the last effluents through the roots of aquatic plants.
This set is installed on the site of the old navigation channel used last century to transport wood and paper pulp, parallel to the Doubs and the Nantes-Budapest cycle path which runs along it.
